The Bank adopted triple bottom line reporting more than a decade ago. It firmly believed that any discussion on sustainability cannot be removed from the larger discussion about the Bank. Stemming from that, instead of producing two separate reports, the Bank has been carrying a sustainability supplement in the Annual Report itself detailing sustainability related information not captured elsewhere in the Annual Report. We have taken this approach forward in a way that better reflects the integrated thinking of the Bank.
Following convergence with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs), the Bank adopted the new Sri Lanka Accounting Standards (known as SLFRSs and LKASs) from January 1, 2012. Financial Statements up to December 31, 2011 were prepared in accordance with Sri Lanka Accounting Standards which were in effect up to that date. Accordingly, the Financial Statements for the previous year have been restated as per the SLFRSs.
